TeO sponsors Graduation Ceremony for ITA’s Sas Centre for Entrepreneurship


TeO recently sponsored a Graduation Ceremony for the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman to celebrate the successful incubation of the first batch of seven information and communication technology (ICT) firms at the Sas Centre for Entrepreneurship


The event was held at the Grand Hormuz Hotel under the patronage of H E Dr Ali Bin Masoud Bin Ali Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry and was attended by a number of officials and CEOs of government and private companies and ICT professionals.


Speaking on the occasion, Dr Salim Bin Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA said, “Today we celebrate the graduation of 7 promising SMEs in the ICT field after passing the incubation period at the SAS Centre for Entrepreneurship and their remarkable achievements as the overall revenues of the incubated companies reached RO 2.6 million gained over the last 3 years only. He added, “The role and support of the Sas Centre for Entrepreneurship will not end at this point. It will be committed to follow up and monitor these SMEs even after graduation. They will also be able to benefit from all the continuous consultancy services and participate in networking events, training course and overseas training by Sas.

Mr. Hassan Fida Al Lawati, acting Director Generaal of the Digital Society Development division of ITA said, “Since its establishment in 2013, the centre received 190 application requests for incubation, 30 of which were selected to be incubated at the centre for the following three years and employees approximately 40 Omani youth till date.” He added, “We hope to see these SMEs grow in the Omani market and compete at a regional and international level, thereby boosting ICT industry with innovative products, solutions and services produced and made in Oman.”
